shawna-oneill_compass-clinical-consultingShawna O’Neill makes hospitals more efficient.  Her experience as a nurse, a hospital administrator, and a consultant gives her a unique perspective on the clinical and social dynamics at play in today’s healthcare environments.  She understands the complexity of hospital operations and how to make them run more smoothly, accounting for every step within a given process. As Co-Principal of Compass Clinical Consulting’s Labor Cost Management practice, she addresses clinical and social obstacles to help clients realize their productivity goals without compromising healthcare quality or morale.

Over the course of her decades-long career, Shawna has ascended the ranks, beginning as a staff nurse and eventually holding two hospital vice presidencies. She has been a full-time consultant for over a decade, during which time she has also served as an interim Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Shawna’s greatest asset is her ability not only to identify the bottlenecks that cause hospitals to waste money, but also to implement sustainable solutions that yield greater productivity through cultural change.

Shawna holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Xavier University and an undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate in Healthcare from Villanova University and is pursuing her Six Sigma Black Belt.
