National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. The theme of Nurses Week 2018 is “Nurses: Inspire, Innovate, Influence.”
Compass Clinical Consulting recognizes the vital role nurses play in the mission toward providing safe, quality patient care — both within our firm and within the many organizations we have the honor of working with — and we thank them for their tireless service and dedication.
Nurses: Inspire, Innovate, Influence
From the American Nurses Association press release,
“Because of nurses’ wide-ranging roles and our sheer numbers, we are well positioned to identify and help solve many public health problems in the course of providing individual care to our patients and their families,” said ANA President Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN. “Nurses have successfully used our voices and expertise to inspire, innovate, and influence to advance the health of our nation. I urge all nurses to become passionate about public health and to advocate for the causes that they feel strongly about.”
About National Nurses Week
National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896. Each of ANA’s state and territorial nurses associations promotes the nursing profession at the state and regional levels. Each conducts celebrations on these dates to recognize the contributions that nurses and nursing make to the community.
The ANA supports and encourages National Nurses Week recognition programs through the state and district nurses associations, other specialty nursing organizations, educational facilities, and independent health care companies and institutions.
